Take your business presence on this popular social platform to a completely new level by exploring the secret Instagram hacks and features.
Typically clients looking to establish a social media presence will look instantly toward the two networking giants that are Twitter and Facebook. These social media titans are still undoubtedly dominant in their arena, however, there is a new contender for the crown of Networking King, Instagram. With an increasing number of SMEs seeing success on its network, Instagram is quickly becoming the go-to social network for businesses.
Using Instagram for business marketing is still fairly new, consequently many small and medium businesses struggle to gain traction. In order to succeed on this platform, one needs to learn the ins and outs.
While the site itself is very intuitive and easy to use, there is a number of ‘not so obvious features’ that can really enhance your overall impact.
Mastering your Instagram skills will help you to gain a tone of new followers, so listen closely! We are sharing with you the top secret Instagram hacks and features, a range of tools only known to top Instagramers (Ssshhhhh)
Let’s get started:
1.Create a filter ‘dashboard’.
Filters are a great way to transform the look of your images and offer a fabulous shop front, especially for those of us who are not professional photographers. If you are already using Instagram chances are you already have your favorite few. If not, don’t worry there are plenty of options to choose from (40 to be precise) You can select which ones you want to appear in your view and even sort them in a specific order. This little trick will save you time, as you won’t need to scroll through all filters ever again!
To manage your filters, swipe all the way to the very end of the filter options and click the ‘Manage’ icon, now you are ready to choose which filters you want to work with on a daily basis. If you wish to set them up in a specific order, click the left side (three lines) and slide them up and down the list.
2.Set up post notifications from your favorite accounts.
Never miss a post from your favorite account again! The general Instagram feed can be overwhelming, hence it is a good idea to limit the noise and set up notifications from accounts that matter to your business.
To set up notifications (you will need to do it individually for every chosen profile), go to the profile you want to stay up to date with, click on the three white dots in the top, right corner of the screen, and select ‘Turn on Post Notifications” from the drop down menu.
3.Keep an eye on your competitor’s accounts without fear of accidentally liking their posts.
Have you been there before? Checking on your competition on Instagram and accidentally liking their photos? Oops, awkward! But worry not, here is how to do it stress-free: Change your phone settings to the airplane mode, without the internet connection you won’t be able to click on any photos (sneaky right?)
4.Go back to posts you’ve liked
When browsing Instagram accounts, we often like and comment on images that we found appealing. However, due to the high volume of content posted on the platform it is very easy to lose track and you may find yourself wondering ‘where was that image I saw last week”? The good news is, there is a section within your account for all the ‘liked’ posts. To find it, open your profile, tap on the Options menu in the top right corner. In the “Account” section find “Posts You’ve liked”. Voila!
5.Find relevant users in a specific location
Want to connect with likeminded users in your area? Instagram offers a great option to see all posts, posted from a specific place. To find those of interest, tap on the search icon at the bottom of the home screen. Next, tap on the search bar on the top of the page; you will see ‘top’, ‘people’, ‘tags’, ‘places’ below. Tap on the ‘Places’ option, click search and you will see all recent images, posted by users from that specific location.
We hope that learning these secret Instagram hacks and features will enhance your experience when using the platform and help you to drive better results for your business.
