The inaugural Art for Ark’s Sake Fundraiser will showcase works both from established and emerging artists as well as original signed artwork from a host of well-known celebrities. The artwork will be put on display throughout December with a charity auction evening on 14th December.
Artists supporting the event range from international wildlife artists such as Jonathan Truss, Pip McGarry, Gary Hodges, Nick Day and Dr Jeremy Paul, together with Brian Cosgrove, John Gledhill, Clare Grossman, Theresa Pateman, Colin Foo, Neil Kerber, Zoom Rockman, Matt Forster, Sean Azzopardi, Lee Knott, Miranda Lopatkin, Monique Low, Jacqueline Lewis. Several Illustrators are donating works including Claire Alexander and Matt Ashton. The Arthouse has also donated a Stuart Free limited edition of The Arthouse.
A number of celebrities have generously given up their time to create original signed artworks for Noah’s Ark, including tennis player Rafael Nadal, actor and comedian Johnny Vegas, actors Sean Bean, James Purefoy, Fay Ripley and musician Andy Bell from Beady Eye.
Pupils from Rokesly and Coleridge Junior schools will be contributing work based on the animal theme. Art for Ark’s Sake will also be showcasing two visual arts pieces that were created by Noah’s Ark siblings groups earlier this year as part of a pilot project with the Start Hospices Project and artsdepot.
The Art for Ark’s Sake event is being staged by Crouch End residents Ellie Northam and Bex Davies to raise awareness of the charity which supports over 130 children locally including Ellie’s daughter, Bella.
The Art for Ark’s Sake exhibition takes place from Wednesday 4 December 2013 to Saturday 4 January 2014 at The Original Gallery, Hornsey Library, HaringeyPark, London, N8 9JA.
On Saturday 14th December, a special afternoon is planned with face painting, cakes and refreshments from 1pm until 5pm. Doors open again at 6pm ahead of the Charity Auction at 8pm. During the evening there will be an opportunity to meet some of the artists who are exhibiting at the event.
