TALENT SHOW COMES TO THE MUSWELL HILL FESTIVAL 2012

The countdown to the Muswell Hill Festival has begun! In its 8th year at Cherry Tree Wood, this event promises to be a great family day. As always there will be an eclectic mix of wonderful stalls from the local community as well as the popular donkey rides, monster veg competition and dog show, all to keep the family and friends entertained throughout the day. There will also be fun and games in the kids’ zone including a production of Hansel and Gretel by the Crouch End Players and the popular miniature steam train ride. Our food court with an international selection and the well-liked Pimms Tent is back with even more choice!

We welcome back our musicians to entertain us with great music to keep the spirit of the festival going. Our curtain raiser this year will be the Fabulous Lounge Swingers, a knees-up swing band, with a London sound. Performing crazy covers and monster mash-ups, in their own distinctive style, their show is high-energy, a lot of fun and extremely entertaining, with everything from Britney to Cab Calloway and Beyonce, to Florence and the Machine, all mixed up in one big swinging party!’ Are you are ready to party in the park?

This year we are launching MUSWELL HILL’S GOT TALENT! Yes our very own talent competition showcasing the local talent. The prize is a recording session or equivalent at BonaFideStudio based in St James’s Lane. Closing date to register is Friday 31 August.

All proceeds from this event go to The London Centre for Children for Cerebral Palsy. We provide early intervention classes for babies and toddlers, giving advice and training to parents and carers, provide primary education for three to eleven years old, organize and deliver external training for other professionals working with children with cerebral palsy. We also provide intensive programmes during the holidays for children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders. The centre uses a specialist teaching method called Conductive Education.

The festival is a great fun day out with lots to do. We are hoping the weather will be good, but still don’t mind dancing in the rain! Come along, join in the fun and help us to make this year bigger and better.
