Raise Money for Marie Curie London
As the summer holiday season is well and truly over, why not turn your mind to your next big adventure and set yourself a challenge for the New Year. Marie Curie is calling on Londoners to sign up for an incredible trek to Costa Rica to raise money specifically for Marie Curie Nurses in London and the charities hospice in Hampstead.
During the trek which will take place in January 2017 you will explore towering mountains, turquoise-blue lakes, gleaming glaciers and enchanted forests. Participants are asked to fundraise before their departure and all money raised will help Marie Curie provide care and support for people with a terminal illness and their loved ones.
With over 14 months until the trek leaves, there’s plenty of time to get fit and get fundraising for this once in a lifetime challenge. The eight-day trip includes six days of trekking, during which you will experience the most breathtaking views imaginable.
Long term Marie Curie supporter Richard Cooke has previously trekked the Great Wall of China for the charity and has signed up for the Costa Rica trek. He described his last trek as “an incredible experience with amazing support from Marie Curie both before and during the trek. I met some great people and it was fantastic to be doing a challenge for such a good cause.”
Jane Richardson, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie said: “This trek to Costa Rica is an exciting opportunity to visit a fantastic part of the world, meet some like-minded people and raise money for an important cause. If you are looking for a challenge, a New Year’s resolution or something interesting to talk to your friends and family about, then sign up to trek Costa Rica for Marie Curie.”
