Lucinda Holt, AKA Crouch End Kindival, recently organised a clean-up event as part of the Great British Spring Clean. A team of 30 volunteers met Saturday 4th March at the Crouch End Clocktower.
There was a real sense of community spirit with many families joining in the event. Children were excited by the Litter Scavenger Hunt that had been especially created for the event. Each child was presented with a checklist and pencil and they had to cross off what they found.
Lucinda said “I was blown away by the generosity of our local baker, Dunns Bakery, who provided freshly baked delights (cupcakes, sausage rolls and baked pastries) for our Crouch End Litter Heroes – so much #crouchendkindness. At one point Charles Dance walked past eyeing up the cupcakes!! My girls have been asking when they can go on another Tidy Up. Today they have spotted and picked up litter when walking to Priory Park. The best take out from the event was that it resonated with the littles ones so it was a win-win all round!”
A further clean-up is being organised as part of the Crouch End Festival in June. The date will be confirmed on Crouch End Kindival’s social media channels:
