Nearly 200 local people turned out in force on Sunday 20th March at the local Sport Relief Mile organised by the Oxygen Fit volunteers, in Oakhill Park, East Barnet.
Organiser, Emma Godly of Oxygen Fit said, “It was a fantastic day! Watching the community come together to support such a great cause was brilliant! It was wonderful having The Mayor, Councillor Mark Shooter count our Milers down. The sun came out and participants old and young had a fantastic time. We feel very proud knowing that the money raised here today will help people living unimaginably tough lives in some of the world’s poorest countries.”
The Oxygen Fit Mile has raised in the region of £14,000 over the previous two events, so hopefully Sport Relief 2016 will take it over £20,000
“On behalf of Sport Relief I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has donated money or volunteered their time to go the extra mile.”
