MidSummer Muswell 2017 is back in St James Square and St James Church, Muswell Hill on Saturday 24th June.
Our market has been curated by Red Desk’s Jacqueline Goldenstein and provides a great community opportunity for local people to try a bit of market selling.
Joining us this year will be food vendors Yum Us (Greek pies), Just Baked by Jo (Gluten-free brownies), Tootoomoo, Nata Cakes (cupcakes) and Urban Edibles (smoked salmon bagels). Why not try Muswell Hillbilly brews which are grown, brewed and drunk in Muswell Hill using N10 hops, equipment and drinkers.
For those of you looking to purchase some gifts, you can visit The Alexandra WI (selling some preserves, biscuits and cakes, and craft items), Scouting for Pearls, Lublue, Jackie Oldham (textile products), Gifts by Berni (Vintage houseware and kitchenware), Nicky Grace (vintage fabric products).
We will also have WAVE, C-Potential, Layzells and Muswell Hill Sustainability Group raising awareness on their information stands. Those looking for some pampering can head over to Back to Health Wellness Centre. Finally children will love Ribbon and Joy (balloon modelling and face painting).
BonaFideStudios have put together a fabulous line up to entertain festival-goers in St James Square. There will be opera, bands, belly dancers, new acts and returning favourites.
Make sure you come along to see the following performing for the first time: The Darkettes (student belly dancing troupe), Darcy (young local singer songwriter), duo SwanKings and Muswell Hill School of Performing Arts (former Kidz on the Hill) and Play for Progress (currently working with children in need living as asylum seekers across the UK).
Returning to MidSummer Muswell are Blunt Man Band (young local band), Keith Airey’s band (2015 headlining act), Marisa Di Muro (soprano) and The Muzztones (much loved local superstars).
St James Church
Don’t forget to stop by St James Church which promises an afternoon of Fun, Food, Crafts and entertainment.
The chapel will be transformed into the craft zone with Mask and Mosaic making and some exciting activities provided by the WAVE team. We will also have some giant games and a face painter to keep the children entertained.
On the church stage we will have a performance from the battle of the borough 2017 winners E-kidz (street dance) plus a special performance from the St James Gospel Choir. Wave café will be selling some great homemade food and the community café will be serving tea, coffee, cakes and savoury snacks.
Plus much, much more!
