New restaurant In Crouch End

New fish and chips restaurant in Crouch End

Okay, containing our excitement is something we have given up on. We’ve had such lovely welcoming comments on our social channels and we already feel we belong. Thank you Crouch End.

Sometime ago we spotted that Traditional Fish and Chip shops were on the decline so we found a superb location in Southgate last year and Cannons was born – the N14 community have been incredible and many of our customers are now our friends, we can’t thank them enough for their support and continued custom.

When we were seeking out a second outlet, we noticed that the foodie paradise that is Crouch End was missing a central dine-in, and above all, a traditional Chippy, so we set about putting that right.

Crouch End is famous for its wonderfully trendy edge and we just know we’re going to fit right in! If you haven’t already paid us a visit Southgate, then you won’t know that at Cannon’s, we like to do fish and chips a little differently… When we first started Cannon’s dream we saw that there was something missing in the world of the chip dinner and we thought, what better time to fill that hole?

And You Know What Else?

We consider the environment, your health as well as an incredible dining experience. We fry all our fish and chips separately, in rapeseed oil, which is the healthiest frying option – it’s super low in saturated fats and a great source of vitamin E. If that old favourite, battered fish, is not for you, no problem, we also offer matzo and grilled fish options – all succulent, fresh and wonderful.

If fish isn’t your dish, fear not, we serve North London’s finest Pieminister pies, a brilliant selection of healthy, organic pies for veggies and carnivores alike, so whatever your taste, we’ll have something perfect for you! Served alongside our delicious, double fried, extra crunch chips and salad – what else could you want? Ooh gravy, we do gravy. And mushy peas, how’s that for traditional?

The Venue And Ambience:

A vast, stylish dining room, family dining booths, over the counter takeaway service, a deliciously tempting wine list – all that and mouth-watering Fish and Chips. Not to mention our trademark vintage interiors and our no-longer-secret obsession with The Beatles music.

We can’t promise to take you back to the heady days of your childhood with vinegar soaked newspaper and those longed-for Fish and Chips but we’ll have a damn good try.

Our soft launch is coming – keep an eye on our social channels for the date:

Our environmental promise.

We love the world we live, it’s a beautiful place and we’d like to keep it that way… That’s why all of our fish is sustainably sourced and all the oil we use, once we’ve finished with it, is recycled into eco-friendly bio oil.
