Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good. We give them a space to have fun. Girlguiding is active in Haringey and we rely on over 60 fanstatic volunteers to make Girlguiding happen.
1st Alexandra Park Brownie Unit is a wonderful Brownie group which will be 100 years old in 2 years’ time. But the group faces closure if it doesn’t find a leader to take on the role of running the group by Christmas 2017. With a team of volunteers, over the years the unit has participated in camps, activity days, cake sales, discos, fun runs, interest badges, charity fundraising and many more exciting activities. Countless girls have been members of this group and it wants to continue its fantastic work with girls into the future. In return for helping girls achieve their goals, Girlguiding offers the chance to have fun making long lasting friendships and opportunities to develop team work, leadership and communication skills. There are also chances to travel abroad and work towards outdoor and activity qualifications. No previous Girlguiding experience is required and full training will be given.
For more information on role responsibilities and time commitment, please get in touch by emailing Sarah Anderson, Division Commissioner on [email protected].
