Over the holidays, Sparks are offering their fun Summer Shoots for children and teenagers.
Summer Shoots are action-packed summer camps full of fun for young movie makers, who discover new skills behind and in front of the camera as they spend a week producing and performing in their own movie masterpiece.
The camps are both creative and technical, with plenty of skills to take away. Over five days, children produce a completely unique movie from scratch, supported and guided by the Sparks team of friendly instructors. At the end, they proudly share their films with parents and families in a special screening presentation.
The children enjoy taking ownership over their production, which all comes from their ideas and imaginations. It’s very “hands on”, they take on all the practical directing, camera work, production design, editing and all the starring roles. For parents, it’s great to know that their child is fully engaged and inspired, whilst actively contributing each day. The group sizes are small, with a dedicated staff team (all of whom are DBS-checked) so there is lots of attention and encouragement. The presentation at the end shows off their pride in their work and enables them to share their accomplishments.
The camps are running at Highgate Primary School, with different dates available through the summer. There are different courses for ages 4-18, with progression steps for both new and returning movie makers.
