Hannah’s Marathons

Crouch ender Hannah Patrick is running not one but TWO marathons in one week to raise money for breast cancer care and children with cancer. She began her marathon journey last year when her mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. Wanting to turn the situation into a positive, she decided to enter the London marathon and ended up raising over £2500 for breast cancer care. A year later and with her mum now at the end of her treatment she remains a keen ambassador of wanting to raise awareness. “It seemed like a mythical story that you only ever hear of but never see. Unfortunately it’s not; everyday my mother continues to inspire my brothers and me by how strong and positive she is.

“I can never truly understand all the daily battles she may have, so to be given a place to run for Breast Cancer Care, a charity that hasn’t just helped people like my mum but millions of others, it’s an honour.

“I know the marathons will be extremely hard, but what will get me across the finish lines, is how strong and remarkable my mother is, she might not have crossed the finish line yet in her battle but to me she is already a winner”.

Coffee CircusCoffee Circus, a local business in Crouch End, is helping Hannah raise awareness through their coffee creation the Marathonacino. Head Barista Peter fromCoffee Circus describe this special drink as: “as a cappuccino with our guest espresso the Ethiopian doyo complementing one another”; and for every Marathonacino sold Coffee Circus will donate 50p towards her fundraising.

So why the collaboration? Hannah contacted Coffee Circus because as a coffee lover she loved its great coffee and great service as well as its quirky decor.  Coffee Circus Baristas commented: “Great coffee is made up of 3 main factors. Firstly, excellent beans roasted to perfection. Our house blend is a mix of Peru, Mexican and Colombian beans, sourced and roasted by us. Secondly, having the best equipment- we use 2 Mazzer grinders, one for our house blend and one for our guest espresso, which we change each week. This ensures you get the freshest grind. Now combine this with our World Class espresso machine you’ve got the combination for great cup of coffee. Just add our passionate and experienced baristas into the mix and it’s a recipe for the best coffee in London.”

Hannah will be fundraising till the end of April but the marathons will have taken place by the time you read this.
