Kale Smoothie with Pineapple and Banana

This green smoothie gets its signature hue from kale, but coconut milk, bananas, and fresh pineapple balance out the flavours.

INGREDIENTS

4oz coconut milk

16oz stemmed and chopped kale or spinach

12oz chopped pineapple (about ¼ medium pineapple)

1 ripe banana, chopped

DIRECTIONS

Combine the coconut milk, 4oz water, the kale, pineapple, and banana in a blender and puree until smooth, about 1 minute, adding more water to reach the desired consistency.

Raspberry and Nut Smoothie

Turn PB&J into a sippable shake by blending low-fat milk, frozen raspberries, and your favourite nut butter.

INGREDIENTS

6oz low-fat milk

6oz frozen raspberries

1/2 banana

1 tablespoon natural almond or peanut butter

1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey

DIRECTIONS

Place the milk, raspberries, banana, almond butter, and agave nectar or honey in a blender and whizz up until smooth and frothy.

Mango Smoothie

Use almond milk in place of cow’s milk for a dairy-free breakfast in just five minutes.

INGREDIENTS

8oz chopped ripe mango

4oz low-fat milk

4oz ice

2oz plain low-fat yogurt

1tablespoon honey

DIRECTIONS

Place the mango, milk, ice, yogurt, and honey in a blender and whizz up until smooth and frothy.
