Q&A with Jess McAllister

Jess McAllister Q&A

What are you listening to right now?

Laura Groves, Haitus Coyote, and Moodymann. And lots of Bowie, always.

It’s Karaoke night. What song do you sing?

Part of your World from the Little Mermaid. Or, ‘Whenever, Wherever’ just so I can crack out my Shakira impression.

What have you been reading lately?

Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal by Jeanette Winterson. It’s the silent twin to ‘Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit’ and its a truly inspirational read!

Who is the most influential person in your life?

In my life it’s probably my husband Will 🙂 I go to him for his opinion or advice, and he always gives me the honest (sometimes blunt) truth!

Which song do you wish you had written?

Bloody MFA by Martha Wainwright

We’re at the bar. What are you drinking?

Depends on my mood. Ale, guinness, red wine, gin and tonic or a margarita. My shot of choice is tequila.

Who would you dread getting stuck in a lift with?

I think I’d be fine stuck in a lift with anyone. It’s a finite amount of time and everyone has a different perspective on life, so you can learn something from someone, even if they are really annoying. If it was someone really annoying and I was struggling for conversation I’d probably just wind them up instead.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A singer. I also went through a phase of wanting to be a Vet until I did work experience at a Vet’s surgery.

If you were a London tube station, which one would you be?

Cockfosters. Obviously.

Are you heading to London?

Yes! Dates to be confirmed.

How can we find out more about you?

www.jessmcallister.com or www.facebook.com/jessmcallistermusic – I’m also on sound cloud, bandcamp, twitter, instagram etc!
