Q&A with Verity White

Q&A Verity White

What are you listening to right now?

I’m loving the new Halestorm album at the moment, also Deep Vally are super awesome and the new stuff coming from She Makes War is definitely worth a listen too! Gotta love the female rock revolution!!

It’s Karaoke night. What song do you sing?

I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, coz it’s a tune and everyone always loves it. I love a bit of old school disco and soul, I grew up singing along with Motown hits so it feels like part of my soul!

What have you been reading lately?

I’m in the middle of Priestdaddy which is a really funny memoir of a writers life growing up. Its tragic in places but mainly hilarious. I’m lucky that I have about 10 books on the nightstand to work my way through as my little bro’ sent me a ‘you need to read these’ package for my birthday! Generally I read modern fiction and fantasy, but this memoir is just awesome!

Who is the most influential person in your life?

You know what, I’ve never thought about it. I tend to push myself so hard that I don’t have time to get influenced by other people very much, but I do always listen to my family and friends, and hubby… I guess I should probably say him? Yes, it is met husband, Alex 😉

Which song do you wish you had written?

Hurt by Nine Inch Nails. That song is incredible, so dark, haunting and sad. Just love it.

We’re at the bar. What are you drinking?

G and T all the way!! I’m actually intolerant to yeast which really reduces the selection I can have (despite being a lover of all the boozes!) – I can have vodka too but that turns me a bit, weird… so gin for the win!

Who would you dread getting stuck in a lift with?

Trump. What a self-self-obsessed wanker.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A singer! WINNING!!

If you were a London tube station, which one would you be?

Oh my, I love this question! I genuinely have a favourite station too and that’s Westminster, coz of the modern design, all the concrete and escalators its kinda post-modern and cool.

Are you heading to London?

Always, I’m there every week anyway, and tend to gig there once ever couple of months. Next London show is Notting Hill Arts Centre on Nov 18th! You should come (all of you!)

How can we find out more about you?

Head to www.veritywhite.com or you can follow me on twitter where I am super friendly I’m @veebear 🙂 – I also have pages on basically every other platform and am currently rating money for my next album so please (PLEASE) head to www.gofundme.com/veritywhite and help out, thank youuuu!
