Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read the latest edition of ‘The Music Connection’.
For this edition, I decided to write an article on one of Crouch End’s best loved music stores, ‘Flashback Records’, which can be found in Crouch Hill in Crouch End, North London.
The history of Flashback Records can be traced back to 1997, when they first opened up a store in Islington in North London. The store initially sold retro and vintage clothing in the basement of the store, with music being sold on the ground floor. The store was initially founded to cater for fans of different genres of music, from 60’s swing to modern day Hip-Hop.
9 years later in 2006, saw Flashback Records opening their Crouch End store, which took over a previously ailing record shop. The store is now famously known as a continuously expanding and thriving store, which is constantly stocked with great music and proves to be very popular with music fans from far and wide.
Flashback Records’ Crouch End store is also known as one of the respected second-hand shops in England, so much so, that the store was voted 17th best shop in the whole of London, in a survey for Time Out Magazine in 2014.
The same year also saw the opening another Flashback Records store in Shoreditch, East London.
As well as being a record store, Flashback Records is also an independent record label, known for releasing new music from a range of music genres, including Rock, Hip-Hop, Motown, Jazz and Electro.
Flashback Records are also known for hosting regular instore gigs in their stores, details of which, can be found on the store’s official website.
You are able to see more information on Flashback Records at www.flashback.co.uk.
Thanks again for reading this month’s edition, catch you all soon.
