The Crouch End Players present A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The Crouch End Players Chief mischief-maker Puck is on-hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and games of fantasy, love and dreams ensue in Shakespeare’s most beguiling comedy.

The show features original music by David Tims with song and dance an essential part of the action. In the welcoming atmosphere of the Earl Haig Hall Shakespeare’s Athenian forest will be transformed into an urban jungle peopled by a rich mixture of gods and mortals.

The Players are no strangers to Shakespeare, following an open-air summer production of As You Like It in Priory Park in 2014 and Twelfth Night at Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre in 2016. A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be their first production in the Earl Haig Hall since “Putting on the Blitz” in 2011.

Tickets priced £10 will be available online from 6th April via https://crouchendplayers.blogspot.co.uk

The show is being stages at Earl Haig Hall, 9th – 12th May 2018

The Crouch End Players

The Crouch End Players was started in 2009 by a group of north London residents with the purpose of making great theatre and new friends in their local community. After a few false starts, our first production was an unperformed work by RSC actor and playwright Tom Kempinski, The Princess of Wales (a stylish, Regency comedy). It was really well-received by local audiences and West End producers alike.

Since then we have produced over 40 shows, from large pantomimes to short plays in local pubs. Recent highlights have included such diverse productions as Toad of Toad Hall, performed outdoors in Priory Park, The Vagina Monologues at Hornsey Town Hall, and the hilarious farce, The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s production of Murder at Checkmate Manor. All of our shows are performed within the N8 area of north London.

With consistently successful performances over the years, we have grown quickly into a group with over 50 active members. We have an open policy and our membership includes people of all ages and backgrounds, from across Haringey and other London boroughs. The majority of our members are professionals in various fields, who donate their time, expertise, and talents to create our fantastic shows.
