When a new year starts I am sure you consider having a clearout/rethink/revamp of various parts of your business. If reviewing your marketing strategy is part of that process and you want to hit the ground running with your marketing in 2018 here is a checklist of the 4 “must haves” to make it successful.
- If you haven’t got one already, then make a marketing plan. The importance of a detailed marketing plan can’t be overstated. Marketing is as important as the product or service you provide. Without marketing, consumers and clients can’t find out about you. If they don’t know about you, they can’t buy from you, and as a result, you won’t make money.
- Make sure you market your business through at least 2 different media channels – there is a wide range of promotional platforms available so there will be something that fits your business.
- Set a monthly budget, an actual amount you are prepared to spend on marketing your business; it can be real hard cash or a nominal amount such as allocating a regular slot in your diary to schedule your social media.
- NEVER STOP MARKETING – even when you are bumping along the bottom you need to keep your name in circulation. If you don’t then your prospective client will find someone else and what happens next doesn’t bear thinking about.
