This Christmas The TOY Project is launching their Grandparent Project for the very first time.
Charity founder, Jane Garfield, said
“Last year we noticed that many grandparents who were living on a very tight budget felt ashamed that they could not give to their grandchildren at Christmas in the way they wanted to. This year we have launched The Grandparent Project so that we can support with providing presents for them to give so that they can spend their money on looking after themselves during the cold months. Many feel worried about turning the heating on or overspending on food. We want them to lose the pressure of present buying and to enjoy spending time with their much-loved grandchildren.”
The TOY Project provides toys for children all the year round. They supply schools, nurseries, hospices, bereavement centres, community projects and individuals with new and used toys. They have built a library in the Caribbean for users with disabilities where they send your unwanted children’s books every couple of months. If you know of a family or of an organisation that could use some toys they are always ready to help.
You can donate your unwanted toys to their shop at 99 Junction Road N19 5QX between 10 am and 6pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
