Hornsey Carnival Have A Record Year For Local Charities

Saturday 25th October was the Halloween/Presentation Dance when the profits from the Hornsey Carnival Events during 2014 resulted in the highest distribution for many years being over £2000, distributed to the local charities, these included Mayor of Haringey’s Special Fund, Haringey MS, North London Hospice. Hornsey Centre for Cerebral Palsy, Haringey Scouts, St. Josephs Hospice, Guide Dogs for the Blind. The recipients are seen above together with the Hornsey Carnival Court and some of the committee members.

The money was raised from Christmas Carol Singing, Carnival Day Street Collection, Programme Sales and the Mayor of Haringey’s Sponsored Walk.

The Evening took the theme of Halloween, with many being in fancy dress including the Mayor of Haringey, other Carnival Associations supported the event from Basildon, Enfield, Great Bentley, and Stanford & Corringham.

The Chair of Hornsey Carnival thanked all those who had worked so hard to make the evening the great success it was, and a reminder that Hornsey Carnival will be Saturday 4th July 2015.

Apple bobbing took place during the evening.

Gents Fancy Dress winner was George Coleman-Wood of Basildon Carnival as Count Dracula.
