Highgate Private Hospital was proud to underline its commitment to the local community by sponsoring the Fair in the Square 2013.
The annual event saw thousands of people enjoy live music, children’s activities and entertainment in Pond Square where more than 120 charities, societies, local shops and small businesses took stalls.
Mark Lyons, Hospital Director at Highgate Private Hospital, said: “We are proud to be a part of the local community and wanted to show our support by getting involved as headline sponsor of this fantastic event.”
Established for more than 25 years, Highgate Hospital welcomes all patients, whether insured or paying for their own treatment and, together with seven other UK hospitals/clinics, is part of Aspen Healthcare Ltd.
The facility offers outpatients clinics and treatment in most medical specialties, comprehensive diagnostic services, physiotherapy and sports injury service, health screening, vascular surgery and weight management.
The hospital has recently added to its portfolio of leading healthcare services in a bid to increase and improve local healthcare.
Mr Lyons said: “We introduced this new GP service as we recognised that many people find it difficult to get an appointment at a time that suits their schedule. Our GP service is open for longer than many NHS practices, has full range of diagnostics equipment and a pharmacy on site, too, so prescriptions can be picked up immediately.”
The hospital runs a Baby Wellbeing Clinic on Saturday mornings, which provides parents and expectant parents with access to services including Paediatric Consultation, Private Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic, baby massage clinic, pregnancy and childbirth hypnosis, and a baby and toddler drop-in group.
The specialisms covered at the clinic include Urology, Vasectomy, Cardiovascular Disease, and Prostate Disease, as well as Sports Injuries, Health Screening, Private GP Services and a Travel Clinic.
“Research has indicated that many men don’t undergo regular health checks as they find it difficult to see a doctor within their busy schedules,” said Mr Lyons. “Our new Men’s Health Clinic not only provides a one-stop-shop for all male health concerns it also offers expert medical advice at a time convenient to the individual.”
A new Well-Woman Clinic is also designed to be a one-stop-shop for female health, offering services including gynaecology, pregnancy, weight management, neurology and musculoskeletal.
“Women with any health concerns, a family history of illness, a hectic lifestyle or those who have experienced prolonged periods of stress in particular may stand to get even more out of this new clinic,” said Mr Lyons.
The hospital is currently undergoing a £13 million extensive redevelopment and expansion programme which, once completed, will include 43 single patient en suite rooms, a High Dependency Unit, four fully-equipped operating theatres, a state of the art Diagnostics Suite (including MRI, CT, ultrasound scanners and X-Ray) opening in August 2013 with the overall project finishing in December 2013.
Mr Lyons added: “We can’t wait to showcase the new and enhanced facilities to residents and improve even further our healthcare offering to the local community.”
