London’s first Geisterfest is launched in Muswell Hill

Geisterfest Muswell Hill

Geisterfest in Muswell Hill

From 4pm on Friday 31 October 2014 Broadway businesses, shops, stores and pubs will be bracing themselves for an invasion of ghosts, ghouls, zombies and witches (subject to parental guidance, of course).

This fabulous, community-led festival is a Ghost Party that brings together fellow Muswell Hillians, their families and local traders, and will leave your little monsters howling with delight. There will be prizes for the most gruesome costumes and entertainment too.

 4.00 – 5.30pm

The Crocodile Café will host A Ghostly Grotto, with Tricks ‘R’ Us and Haunted Highgate Store. Plus the Highgate Vampire Hunter will be answering questions about spooky creatures.  And kids and parents can get involved in paranormal pizza baking.

There will be horror mask making in Art for Arts Sake and face painting too.

The award winning Performing Arts Academy, PQA, will re-create Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ production at O’Neills. PQA is a weekend academy that specialises in Film & TV, Comedy & Drama and Musical Theatre for 4-18 year olds.

Tap dancing by Happy Tappers is one of several performances from the New London Performing Arts Centre. They will demonstrate their energetic dance skills at O’Neills. NLPAC is a registered charity, providing affordable dance, drama, singing and music classes for 3-19 year olds.

 5.30 – 6.30 pm

Competitions will take place and prizes will be given for the following:

  • Bloodcurdling bake-off
  • Creepiest costume
  • Most creative pumpkin
  • Scariest horror mask

6.30 – 7pm

Live music from the charismatic Facio, a talented singer, guitarist, composer and producer, followed by an Open Mic, welcoming any volunteers willing to show off their vocal talents.

7.00 – 8pm

Performance by the famous Muswell Hill Brass Band.

Launched in 2011 Muswell Hill Brass is affiliated to the North London Brass Network, bringing together an enthusiastic core of players, spanning all ages and abilities.

8pm – 9pm

The Muswell Hill Popchoir will take to the stage. Be prepared for audience participation and for a singalong. Popchoir offers people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to sing a repertoire of contemporary pop music in a relaxed environment
