Now in its 11th year, the ever-growing Palmers Green Festival is gearing up to be ready for Sunday 2nd September and its 2018 performance. The event, which has attracted thousands of visitors, is free to enter, not for profit and entirely developed and managed by local volunteers to celebrate this part of north London, taking place in a beautiful, historic park.
Refreshments are one feature of the over 100 stalls you can calmly browse, whereas for the more adventurous is the UK’s largest mobile climbing wall where you can test your skills – and nerve. All day dancing, will include several world champions from a range of styles, frequently providing free lessons in just how-to impress your partner with the best moves. A dedicated fun fair for kids and rosette winning opportunity for dogs at their own show, sit alongside model boats on one London’s only two dedicated model boating ponds. A visual arts gallery will be joined by arts and crafts while you can experience nature first hand in the community orchard and community conservatory.
Music happens every year at the lakeside bandstand and in 2018 will be enhanced by pop-up events happening throughout the park.
This year will see the first appearance of “speaker’s corner”, where an impressive range of participants from local councillors right through the Deputy Mayor of London, will be joined by community leaders and various experts to address, discuss and debate a range of topics throughout the day. And these key topics will be all the better for audience participation, so check the topics and the times on the web site before you come and make sure your own point is heard, understood and answered.
The Palmers Green Festival is sponsored by Winkworth Estate Agents and will take place on Sunday 2nd September between noon and 7pm in Broomfield Park N13. Organisation is in conjunction with the volunteer Friends of Broomfield Park.
