Empty Pocket GuideTravelling is essential for everybody and with inflation it is getting increasingly heavy on the wallet.

Here are some ways to save money when travelling in London.

Young persons railcard (for 16-25s), Network rail card and family and friends railcards are all £30 per year. There is an initial outlay but the cards will save you 1/3rd on selected journeys. The Network railcard has no photo card and can be used for up to 4 people.

This is useful if you travel a lot i.e if you make more than 3 trips to Brighton in a year it would be worth you getting a railcard.

This isn’t heavily advertised and not available on ticket machines but if 3 or 4 of you are travelling together to some destinations you only pay for 2. 2 children under 5 can travel for free per passenger and up to 4 more children per group at the cost of £1 each! Ask at the ticket office if your destination is included.
