After a very long and exhilarating campaign, I want to take this opportunity to thank the people of Hornsey and Wood Green for voting for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to fight for the things that matter most to my constituents and to fight for a fairer future for all.
Although it was difficult night for Labour nationally, we had a number of fantastic results across the capital. I promise to fight hard against the Tories and their plans to continue to hit the most vulnerable in our society.
My priorities over the coming months are:
- Standing up for our NHS, for people not for profit and to fight against the damaging impact of the Health and Social Care Act.
- Campaigning for a proper Living Wage for all working people.
- Fighting for a fairer deal for private renters; campaigning to end rip-off letting agent fees.
- Supporting our young people, ensuring they have access to high quality education and real training opportunities.
I hope you will contact me if there are any particular issues that you would like to raise. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 020 7219 6141. You can also write to me at the House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
I will also be holding regular advice surgeries to meet with constituents. These will normally be held at Wood Green library between 10am and 11.30am on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. You do not need an appointment to attend. I will also be holding roving surgeries and will advertise details of these on my website.
Thank you again for all your support and I hope you will keep in touch to let me know the issues that matter to you.
Member of Parliament for Hornsey and Wood Green
P.S. We need to continue the fight for a fairer London. The Mayoral and London Assembly elections will be on 5th May 2016 and we need a Labour Mayor and Joanne McCartney back at City Hall.
