Maybe you’re thinking of going for the complete overhaul with even an extension to house this new room or maybe you’re just looking for easy ways to give everything back it’s new kitchen ‘sparkle’?
If you’re thinking of replacing units, keep an eye out for stores selling ex-displays and always consider cheaper suppliers as often there can be little difference in the finish. You could consider having plain units professionally spray painted to produce a unique colour finish and if you are happy with the layout of your old kitchen, either replace the doors or have them painted. Keep an eye out for unusual handles; if you’ve become bored of door knobs consider drilling a second hole in doors to fit a bar handle.( Remember that you can’t do this on drawers that have had knobs fitted as there’ll be a hole in the middle of the panel). Freestanding units allow you to have a change around when you get bored and to take them with you if you move.
Consider a change of colour scheme by potentially changing tiles, worktops or simply by adding a bold paint colour to walls. Even some fresh new accessories can make an enormous difference. New tea towels, pictures, crockery or a new kitchen clock. If you have a dining table in your kitchen, maybe some new chairs or some chair pads in a favourite fabric with some different table mats? For a quick ‘spruce up’ try this season’s mustard tones or bright orange with some coloured glass and bold plastic accessories maybe mixed with grey? For another fashionable look try retro floral prints, spots and stripes with enamelware and wood and possibly some bunting strung up for decoration.
Whatever you decide, happy shopping!
