New Year’s resolutions for your home….

Interior Design

So, here we are again at the start of another year with a whole new outlook and a heap of resolutions to break! The decorations are packed away and the credit card bill has arrived, but you may be feeling with your home stripped bare of the festive adornments that it’s in need of some TLC? Now, whilst I can’t help you motivate yourself into the gym 4 times a week I can make some suggestions to improve your home environment.

Why not resolve to take a risk with colour? Paint colours that are leading the way in 2017 include bright sunshine yellows, deep blues and turquoise tones. If painting feels like too much of a commitment, then refresh your colour accents by budgeting for a new collection of decorative accessories. Remember to use your intuition when it comes to these choices. Everyone has a little voice that encourages the decisions that are right for them. Look at pictures and objects and choose the colours that you are drawn to. After all, you are the one who has to live with it!

If all the excess of the festive period has left you feeling like you need something completely new, then how about a thorough declutter? Embrace a new ‘Zen’ way of living and clear out all that blocks both physical and emotional space. On that thought I will leave you with a quote from Marie Kondo that is definitely food for thought.

“Keep only those things that speak to your heart. Then take the plunge and discard all the rest. By doing this you can reset your life and embark upon a new lifestyle”.

How about that for a resolution?
