This Easter, I want to be a pop star!

logo for Pauline Quirke academyI am sitting here in disbelief as I write IT IS MARCH!!! 2014, where are you going?! Time flies when you’re having fun! And I certainly have been having a lot of fun running the Pauline Quirke Academy in Muswell Hill. In a few weeks’ time, it will be the Easter holidays and all you amazing parents out there will be faced with the task of entertaining your children for two weeks. It has been proven that children who keep active over the holiday periods settle back into the school routine faster and are more attentive when they return. That means us parents are responsible for finding activities to inspire, engage and keep our children focused, whilst (obviously) being super fun, as it is the school holidays after all. I hereby present to you the PQA solution…

This Easter, children of North London, star in your own music video! Learn how to sing pop vocals with our top vocal coach and record your very first song at BonaFide Recording Studio. Dance “commercial” with a professional backing dancer. Become director, work with the camera and see how we edit the sound, dance and drama together to create a professional music video! Perform a live performance to your family and friends on the final day AND receive your own copy of the finished product to treasure forever. This amazing opportunity is open to children aged 6-18, and will be split into age groups accordingly.

PQAUnder 6? Fear not! Join us for a magical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Adventure”. Following the success of two PQA students being cast in the west end production, we will be learning songs and dances from the musical, whilst helping Charlie to find his golden ticket! Who knows, we may just get to explore Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, meet some silly Uoompa Loompas and ride in the glass elevator! There will be a performance to family and friends on the final day.

Whilst presenting the children with what we believe to be the best training in these specialist areas, these fast paced, high energy activities will naturally develop confidence and social skills as they make new friends and work as a “team player”. The amazing thing about performing arts is the focus required to obtain the high level results we strive for. With this comes an enhanced concentration and discipline skill.

These activities are designed as a three day course, taking place Monday 7th-Wednesday 9th April in Muswell Hill and Tuesday 15th-Thurday 17th April in Highgate;  10am-1pm (Music Video) and 10am-12pm (Under 6’s). As we know first-hand how financially draining the school holidays can be, we present these exclusive experiences to you economically priced and cheaper than the nanny! PQA members receive 10% off the fees and siblings obtain a 25% discount.

Due to the nature of this holiday activity, we can only take very limited numbers and we are only able to accept advanced bookings. Please contact the principal, Emma directly to check availability and to reserve your space.
