Muswell Health: a space of peaceful sanctuary

Muswell Health

The desire to open our own Therapy Centre came from our love of massage and what it gives to people. We also had a desire to create a nurturing space for clients to be in and ourselves and our other therapists to work from. A space that made all feel comfortable and supported too.

Tom and I have been practicing Reflexology and Swedish Massage respectively for close to 20 years. We met training in Traditional Thai Yoga massage 13 years ago.

As newly qualified therapists, when starting out, we both volunteered in day centres, treating patients diagnosed with cancer and those living with HIV.

When giving treatments in this kind of setting, you learn how to be incredibly adaptable to the needs of your client. You learn to listen and most importantly to take time with people. This idea of taking time and listening is something we have carried on in our Private Practices in centres, home visiting and in treating in the workplace and it is also fundamental to Muswell Health’s ethos.

When giving treatments we aim to be incredibly mindful of the whole session and do our best to make each treatment, complete, which gives space for health and healing to flourish.

We emphasise these point with all therapists that join us and are building a group practice at Muswell Health where we aim to treat the whole person in the best possible way by offering and having a range of treatments that will suit different clients’ needs.
