details about Saisei which is a health clinic offering cryotherapy

What is cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is 100% natural and a non-invasive treatment. The benefits help to decrease inflammation, increase cellular survival, reduce pain and promote overall health. During a Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) treatment, blood rushes to the core as a survival mechanism in reaction to the sub-zero temperatures. Receptors in the skin send this information to the brain, which responds to restore balance.

The first step the body takes to protect its core temperature is to redirect blood from superficial vessels and capillaries in the skin towards deeper structures. This causes blood to flow from the periphery towards the core. After the treatment the body will re-heat itself through vasodilation. The vessels and capillaries expand up to four times their normal diameter.

The blood becomes very oxygenated and nutrient-dense. Minutes after the treatment, blood rushes back through the body, removing toxins and inflammation and encouraging natural healing. Increasing metabolic rate and stimulating the release of endorphins, which improve mood, focus, concentration and sleep. It Improves blood circulation, stimulates healing in damaged tissue and neuronal development. White blood cells secrete protein that is either pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory. This causes a powerful anti-inflammatory response throughout the whole body.

When facing exposure to these temperatures metabolism is increased, lymphatic drainage is kick started and the muscles work harder to produce heat so the body will be able to burn off calories. Several treatments will be required over a period of time to benefit and see the effects.

WBC has benefits to the body on three levels:

  • Nervous system
  • Circulatory system
  • Muscular system

Other treatments include:

Cryo Facial, Sports injury recovery, Localised Cryotherapy & Cryo Shaping
