Arnos Bowling Club needs your help to continue

Bowling Club

Arnos Bowling Club is an established Lawn Bowls club which has something for all ages – friendship, Competition but above all fun and enjoyment. It is a great place to bring your own friends and to make new friends.

We are located within Arnos Park and enjoy all the beautiful surroundings the park has to offer. The club was founded in 1937 and celebrated its 80 years milestone in 2017. The club has been part of the local Southgate community throughout these years proudly welcoming new members and experienced players.

Over the years we have enjoyed success in county competitions and are delighted in the fact that many club members have played for Middlesex County.

In 2002 Arnos set the Guinness world record for non-stop indoor bowling. A team of 3 men and 3 ladies (all Senior Citizens) played for 36 hours non-stop.

We are very proud of our achievements and the hard work of a lot of people connected with us which has meant survival of the club over the last 80 years.

The costs of running the club have escalated over the last few years. The lawn maintenance is our biggest expenditure as it is no longer maintained by the local authority and requires funding by the club. The local area has seen many clubs fold over the past few years and Arnos are fighting to keep our club and enjoy many further years of success.

How can you help?

Arnos are looking for new members experienced or new to bowls – all are welcome. We offer free bowling sessions and a heavily discounted first year membership. All you need to start playing are some flat sole shoes; the other equipment we can loan you. We are also interested in talking to local companies who wish to help our local club survive about sponsorship opportunities. To find out more please email: [email protected]
