Film Review – JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL – 3 stars

Actors in a scene from Film Jumaji Next Level

This family adventure does the basics right, adds-in some great new characters and the fun-factor has meticulously been preserved from the last film. But despite this, it seems content with just playing to the same beats as Welcome to the Jungle without really being ambitious enough to take things onto the next level. Some time has passed since our heroes have returned from the game. Bethany (Madison Iseman), Martha (Morgan Turner) and Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain) are enjoying life and making a go of things but Spencer (Alex Wolff) is having difficulty adjusting to college life in New York. When Spencer doesn’t show up for a reunion, the gang go to his house to look for him. His grandfather Eddie (Danny DeVito) and his former work-partner Milo (Danny Glover) are there ironing out their differences after years of estrangement. Before long, the gang realise that Spencer has gone back into the Jumanji game and reluctantly they agree to go back in to get him out.
