Boom-Tish! is back…..

Comedy and variety

Comedy and varietyHaving taken a short break, working on various projects, Crouch End based comedy and variety company Boom-Tish! are back for 3 fabulous nights of Edinburgh preview shows at the newly opened Park Theatre in Finsbury Park.  They will be presenting double shows on July 22nd with Perrier nominee PHIL NICHOL and Fosters Award Nominee JAMES ACASTER, July 28th brings Fosters Award Nominee TONY LAW and Mock the Week star LUCY PORTER and on July 29th it’s the turn of  Have I Got News For You star MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE and ITV’s Show Me the Funny Winner PATRICK MONAHAN

The Edinburgh Previews follow hot on the tail of Boom-Tish! appearing at this year’s Latitude Festival, where they will be taking an hour long show of some of their favourite acts of the past few years. Adding to an already exciting 2013, producing shows for Cartoon Network and providing talent for a series of events at The Ivy Club and for renowned photographer Rankin’s Hunger TV, later in the year Boom-Tish! will return to take up residency at the former Salvation Army Hall (Music Palace) in Crouch End,  which is being transformed into a dynamic new cultural venue called ArtHouse. The ArtHouse team are on a mission to put Crouch End firmly on the cultural map. Through cinema, theatre, music and comedy, ArtHouse aims to do something different in the arts and inspire its audiences with imaginative live performance and film. There will be a cinema with two state of the art screens totalling approx 190 seats. Run in association with Curzon, they will show a mix of mainstream, foreign and ArtHouse films, including live streams of classic theatre, opera and ballet from world renowned companies. There’ll be screenings throughout the day with children’s, teenage and senior showings, as well as late night programmes and special seasons that reflect the diversity of our local area and they’ll always be open to new creative ways to use the cinema.

ArtHouse is ambitious in its plans. The theatre will be a multi-purpose space for both film and theatre productions. It will aim to stage the best in contemporary live performance and celebrate innovative and experimental work in theatre, dance, music and comedy, alongside more popular and classic productions. From storytelling and readings to puppetry and site specific theatre, ArtHouse wants to develop a fresh take on the children’s programme of events and will inspire kids and parents alike.

A cafe and bar will complete the ArtHouse project. It will host exhibitions, live music and comedy as well as providing freshly prepared food. Supplied by ArtHouse’s own deli the ingredients are guaranteed to be of the highest quality, and where possible ethically sourced. The bar will serve a select range of beers, wines and cocktails. Take them into the performances or enjoy lunch, tea or after-theatre snacks in our cafe space.
