A host of exciting Jazz shows will take place at The Other Palace as part of this years EFG London Jazz Festival.
This is the third series for the EFG London Jazz Festival at The Other Palace and with the largest number of concerts yet.
JBGB Events have designed the programme to appeal to all tastes from traditional and swing to hard bop and Latin performed by soloists, small groups and big bands.
Bringing together musicians from the UK and overseas with established jazz legends and younger musicians with recognised and innovative formats.
Shows include 2 Pianos, 6 Pianists, 12 Hands & 60 Digits, an afternoon concert of stunning, original performances and improvised piano magic, from 6 outstanding international jazz pianists, in a wide range of styles with solos, duets and a finale featuring all six together.
National and Internationally acclaimed artists performing include Big Band Bash with Down for The Count Swing Orchestra featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller & Benny Goodman, Tina May, Phil DeGreg with Alan Barnes, The Music of Miles Davis, John Coltrane & Cannonball Adderley with Chris Ingham’s REBOP, Freddie Gavita Quartet, Joanna Eden’s Latin Experience, The Gareth Lockrane Big Band and more.
For a party style concert in our final 2018 EFG London Jazz Festival Concert at The Other Palace, we present DixieMix: New Orleans – The Early Years
On Saturday 24th the EFG Festival concerts switch to St John’s Smith Square with Liane Carroll & Claire Martin in Concert – with special guest Martin Shaw. Liane and Claire together promise an evening of spell binding solo and duo renditions of classic jazz standards stylishly reworked mixed with more contemporary favourites with a modern twist.
On Sunday 25th join internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter Joe Stilgoe and his tremendous Big Band at St. John’s Smith Square for this EFG London Jazz Festival closing night concert.
Expect a mixture of virtuosic musicianship, breath-taking theatricality and interaction with the audience, combining on the spot improvisation and the quickest of wits.
