HICMF brings together distinguished chamber musicians from around the world for a celebration of chamber music in venues around Highgate. This year’s event ‘Beethoven 249’ centres on celebrating the great man to mark this most notable anniversary. We are honoured once again to be joined by a truly incredible gathering of musicians to perform a varied and attractive programme of masterpieces throughout the week.
The festival week 23rd – 30th November opens at St Michael’s Church, Highgate and features early evening, main evening and late-night concerts. Up to 2 children go free with a paying adult!
Acclaimed violist Lawrence Power, celebrated cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, clarinettist Julian Bliss, oboist Nicholas Daniel, cellist Robert Cohen, double bassist Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE, violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky and newly appointed concertmaster of the Philharmonia Orchestra, violinist Benjamin Gilmore are just some of the wonderful musicians coming to perform this year. John Suchet, music presenter and author of a number of books about Beethoven, will also be joining us to introduce one of the festival concerts.
