Q&A with Franco

FrancoWhat are you listening to right now?

A load of brilliant musicians and writers that I’ve just been gigging with in America, particularly a full on string band (double bass, banjo, mandolin and guitar) called The Westbound Rangers, check em out

How did you get into music?

How does anyone not? I remember going to church as a kid and thinking some of the melodies for the songs were amazing, got into pop music when i was about 6 and never looked back!

Who do you follow religiously on Twitter?

Gary Neville cos he keeps tweeting my video links and songs!

What have you been reading lately?

Instructions on how to assemble a pink, plastic trombone. It’s harder than you’d think and then you’ve gotta actually play it!

Who is the most influential person in your life?

Me (and Paul Simon)

Franco and the DreadnoughtWhich song do you wish you had written?

Maybe American Pie or Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright or Romeo + Juliet something that’s lyrically brilliant and tells a story

Does God exist?

Possibly yes, maybe not, there’s clearly still shit loads we still don’t know. It annoys me when people say “I don’t believe in God, I believe in science.” If God exists then he’s the greatest scientist EVER!! Current science says we’re part of an 11-dimensional multiverse, that for me takes more faith to believe in than a god. The jury’s still out for me though

We’re at the bar. What are you drinking?

2 pints of lager, than tequila, sambucca, bacardi and vodka.

Who would you dread getting stuck in a lift with?

No one, everyone’s got something interesting to say for themselves, the fun is getting them to tell you

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Indiana Jones

What would you like for Christmas?

A whip!

What gigs, songs or albums are you promoting at the moment?

New Single “I Want it All” featuring James Gill
