Hi all and thank you for taking the time to read the latest edition of The Music Connection’.
For this edition, I interviewed the Singer & Songwriter Jody Findley.
Q. Hi Jody, so tell us, how did you first get into the music industry?
I moved to London from Wolverhampton in 2010 and began singing in bands around the city. I then moved on to working as a backing vocalist and toured with Soul 2 Soul for seven years. I also recorded a number of house hits with labels such as Defected and Hed Kandi.
Q. What do you think are your biggest achievements within the music industry so far?
Performing on the Jools Holland show with Soul 2 Soul, as the show is iconic, so it was a great privilege to have had the opportunity.
Q. What projects are you up to at the moment?
I’m working on writing and recording more house tracks for the new year, with the North London based producer Dave Delago. I am also performing a lot around the UK.
Q. Where can people check out your current projects?
My official website is at www.jodyfindley.com.
Q. What do you think the future holds in store for Jody Findley?
Lots of singing, both in and around the UK and internationally. I would love to release an EP.
Q. What one piece of advice would you give to someone trying to make it within the music industry?
Always be nice and go out there and meet as many musicians and singers as you can, Support other artists too.
Q. Favourite music artists?
I’m currently listening to Nao, PJ Morton and Sam Smith. I also love many more artists.
Q. What do you like getting up to on your days off from music?
Fitness and travel are my other passions. I also have a love affair with Ibiza and visit the island almost every year. Other recent holidays have been New York, Portugal and St. Lucia.
Q. What are your links with Crouch End.
As there are a lot of great music producers in the area, I am always attending studio sessions in Crouch End and have been for a number of years. I also socialise in the area regularly.
Q. Final words to the people of North London?
Such a vibey place always a pleasure to visit and create music.
Thanks again for reading this month’s edition, catch you all soon.
