Summer Photography Tips

I’m Kirstin Reddington, I run “Little Crumpets Photography”. I’m a children and family photographer based in Muswell Hill. With summer arriving soon, I’d love to offer some tips for you to make the best of your camera or Smartphone. Be sure to carry your camera with you at all times to capture all the amazing memories!

Helpful tips to get the best shots of your family:

-Capture your children off guard: I love capturing children unposed and in their natural environment. Take photos of them interacting with fun summer props such as bubbles, flowers and ice cream!

-Shoot with your child’s face away from the sun so they aren’t squinting in the harsh light

-For posed shots, shoot early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the bright midday sun which can be unflattering

-Wear bright clothing: I love family shots in bright summery colours!

-Mums, make sure to get yourself in some of the family shots! It is great to capture you in the summer memories too!

-Be creative: take close up portraits, far away landscapes and use the beautiful summer scenery to your advantage! The beauty of digital cameras is that you can delete photos, don’t be afraid to make mistakes and have fun with your family images!
